Interactive online application
Where do children have the best chance of making the transition to grammar school? In which municipalities are apprenticeships particularly common? In which neighborhoods is the risk of unemployment lowest? And do certain parties have better electoral chances in certain regions? We try to answer such and similar questions descriptively by means of an interactive, map-based application. You can find the access to this application via the link below or by clicking on the map.
The application allows you to make individual adjustments with regard to various background characteristics, such as gender, age or educational attainment. However, we would like to point out explicitly that the application doe not reveal causal influencesbut merely empirical correlations.
The existing application will be further expanded in the future. On the one hand, information on the historical development of social segregation in Switzerland (1970 - 2020) will be incorporated. On the other hand, findings from the project "The neighborhood in the cloud" will also be included in the application.
